Comparison of traditional remote diagnosis and SmartLink remote diagnosis
Traditional remote diagnostics:
- Diagnostic equipment must be available on the vehicle side
- Diagnostic functionality is limited to locally owned diagnostic equipment
- Generally requires third-party remote desktop control software
SmartLink Remote Diagnostics:
- Only SmartLink interface is required on the vehicle end
- Functionality can be extend by SmartLink B side
- No need to resort to third-party remote desktop control software
